About Us

What's the 100 Year EdTech Project?

This project is the brainchild of Lev Gonick, Chief Information Officer at Arizona State University, and is led by ASU’s Enterprise Technology, SAB Creative and Consulting and The StoryCenter. Our goal for the 100 Year EdTech Project is to:

GAIN

Gain a clearer sense of our learning futures.

CREATE

Create a resource and guide to prepare the broader education community to invent and navigate the next 50 years.

ENSURE

Ensure diversity, equity and belonging in all elements of our work.

About our founding moment:

If history has taught us anything, it’s that we must understand it to create the future we want. That’s why students, faculty members, program directors and field leaders from around the United States gathered at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, from June 6-8, 2023 for the inaugural design committee sessions of the 100 Year Project.

The convening consisted of three chronological parts: Memory, Vision, and Action. Amidst the backdrop of the sprawling deserts and mountains of Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, 25 changemakers comprised the 100 Year Project Design Committee. Together, they shared stories about the people, work and technology that impacted their lives, fostered a sense of belonging, and advanced the world of digital learning.

The intent:

To reflect meaningfully on the past 50 years to create a vibrant vision for the future of education, while considering who and what needs to be involved – and how we create that future.

The goal:

To design an inclusive event next year that generates a visual representation of the vision and the actions we need to take for next 50 years.

Explore the design process, living design principles and more in the inaugural sessions report.
